One Rose for You

Centro Portuguese Serigrafia, Lisbon, Portugal.

There are imaginary worlds in which we can truly find ourselves. One of these worlds is this life you have now. There are 7 worlds in Vedic culture, however, these are temporary worlds, where we are going to after we die. In earthly life we can find pleasure and sometimes sadness or internal struggle. Meditation, observation and integration of experiences are very important to learn to respond to a call with eternal love.

Purusha is the name in Sanskrit for the consciousness that is free of time and of all that we call beings. It’s an eternal light and we are a reflection of it. Samsara in Indian philosophy is a cycle of birth and death.

The rose of life that you received is a temporal experience, it is a moment of exceptional knowledge and observation. Our colorful life is a process of generating impressions as well as a stage of purification on the path to freedom. Our behaviour in the search for balance is not always an easy path, we decide which way we will go.

The art of observing our thoughts is a process that can be learned with continuous practice. Our ultimate emotion that looks to the light is a reflection of all our experiences throughout life. It influences how we walk by the soft rope to the door of freedom. Thanks to that last emotion, that let us penetrate from the dual space to oneness and connect with nature for a unified existence.

Following Vedic tradition, we receive three ‘karmas’. I propose metaphoric three cards. One of those cards refers to our past life. In the work, I drew three seeds from which can grow flowers.

The second card is the card we receive from the universe. I chose the balance number 69. It's a state where I feel myself and I'm open to everything that comes my way.

The third card is the card of life that we write right now with memories, decisions and actions. It depends on us if this card in the form of a bird will fly free and pure with great gratitude and love to the source.

From birth we received a definite vision how to walk in life. From where we come from, we will join that place, and the purity of our intentions creates the transparency of the water.

The work was inspired by the great wisdom of Fátima Longo and Alvise Vianello of Mahama Yoga School, Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain and my great teacher the painter Francesc Artigau.

Screen print was produced in Centro Portuguese Serigrafia, Lisbon, Portugal. The studio is lead by Joao Prates and his great team of experts. Luis Azevedo is one of them. He created a unique screen print reflecting the beauty of the message.
